Jerusalem Part II

Saturday on the way to the old city of Jerusalem, we first stopped at the Russian court, in the 'Holy Trinity Cathedral', a breathtaking place.

I don't think that my photos are doing any justice to this place. it's absolutely an amazing place.
Took a few shot before someone told me no pictures allowed.

After a brief walk, we finally reached the Church of the Holy Sepulchre
We were lucky there wasn't too many people in there when we got there, cause when we got our, the entrance was packed with believers.

It was a strange experience being there, people where on the floor calling to Jesus, praying and crying, rubbing their belonging on a piece of stone.

We went up on the scariest stairs, I was sure I was going to fall.
I didn't fall :D

It was dark inside, didn't get the best photos.

We got to the place where the tomb was.

didn't go inside, there was a really long line, and it seem kinda pointless for me to go in, as I am a nonbeliever and Jewish :D

Afterward we went to eat hummus followed by an apple strudel in the Austrian hostel from which we had a view to the entire old city.

Jerusalem 12/19/10 Part 1

Earlier this month I went to visit my dad in Jerusalem. Usually when I go visit him, we go out of Jerusalem, which I know realize was pretty foolish, since Jerusalem is such an amazing beautiful city, and now when they're almost done with the light-train, it's less messy.
I had my heart sat on visiting the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.
So we were going to do that on Saturday, meanwhile, we had Friday to fill.
My dad took me to a beautiful town named Ein Kerem. Not only is this a beautiful little town, but it's also a part of the Halperin family history.
The town holds number of churches and other Christian sites.

After a very long stairs climb, we've finally reached our first church - "Church of the Visitation".

Although a very nice place, can't say that it was worth the climb :D

After a bit of a rest, we were off to the other side of town, where you can see the view of "The Church of the Visitation" and the beautiful golden Russian church, which we didn't get to visit since it was way up and i'm not even sure that they let anyone go in.

Next up, we were headed to a monastery/guest house, that had a nice little church where I had fallen in love with the white ceiling.

How beautiful is that?

Hopefully over the next few days i'll get them done.

Visited my dad this weekend in Jerusalem, had a really lovely trip ^^

You can see bits of the old city from here.

I really liked the look of those building roofs.

A new open mall. It was really beautiful, but everything was expansive.

stopped for a rest in an old Muslim cemetery. it was full of garbage, pretty nasty place.

Tel-Aviv White Night 2009

Sorry for the crappy photos.
Canon 350D does not work well with high ISO and cheap lens at night.

So, my mom, my aunt, cousin and I went for a white night last week, it's an all night festivity and stuff. it was nice, even thought there was a hugs amount of people and it was hot and damp.

While the girl were strolling along the pedestrian mall, the guys were watching the big match on a big screen tv :D

I didn't get the first part, I think it was supposed to show some fashion of young artist, but the clothes were so ugly, I hope it was a joke or something:

After the weird fashion show, we kept going and saw a lady portraying a weird creature, she was truly bizarre:

And then there were stages portraying the life of old Tel-Aviv, (or something like that.) Funny guys none the less :)

On Monday I was back at my old town for some errands, just as we were about to catch the bus back home, a 'suspicious object' was found on one of the benches, so someone called the police (this is Israel after all) and a few minuets later, a police sapper was in the scene.
Lucky me was there to catch in all on camera!
It was so funny, I wish I had a video camera to tape it, but you'll have to so with still pictures and my lame words.
Anyhow, the suspicious object was a school folder thingy and the police sapper pocked it, shook it, dropped it and ran over it for like 10 minuets with a robot thingy until finally a police man came and asked him if he's trying to pick up one of the marker pens that was in there :D:D:D

Sapper get out from his car, bravely puts on his flak jacket, grab a flashlight, and is on his way to the object!!

And we're done.

time to go back to the office.

Well, it surly has been a long time since i last posted something.
i'm really not a blog person. just like in real life, I don't talk much.
But, i do have a lot, and I mean A LOT of crap on my computer that i just like to post, and they don't really fit into my art galleries. so yeah, i guess i'm gonna have to keep this up. or at lest try O_o.

Anyway, we recently moved from North of Israel the the near center.
I won't bore you with detiails about that. that a whole new blog.>_<
But my mom and I went to one of the parks, 5 minutes from where we live, it's really quite beautiful, and they have a few animals over there. it's nice, lots of places for kids to play.
So yup, here's some pictures.

this is the front of the park. no kids in here, they where all on the other side of the park, playing in a different facility. i dunno why they didn't like this one. maybe cause the other one had sand in it,

The basketball is actually a sun-clock.

In the little Zoo place, they had a nice slection of animals. from ostrich, monkeysת, huge porcupine, a snake, raccoons, ibexes and some rodents. to farm animals such goats and chickens.
It was hard taking pictures, cause they're all in cages with thick fences. (which is good i guess)

This dude was feeding the monkeys, even though there was a sign saying "DO NOT FEED THE ANIMALS!!" but i guess it was ok, he was giving then apples, that's not bad for monkeys, right?
Anyway. i dunno i well he read Hebrew anyway..O_o
But that wasn't the worse he did. he was talking about this guy who offers to sell him some monkeys so he can raise them at home!! WTH?! isn't illegal?!?!
I didn't want to say anything. so i just told him that it's dingares, but he said he was gonna keep them in a cage... damn stupid people.

i'm not really sure what this is. one of the boys there said it's a squirrel. but i dunno..

This one is my favorite photo! a fat raccoon sitting on his food plate and digging his food from underneath. :D
He was sosososooooo cute! I love raccoons every since i first saw Meeko on Pocahontas!

Church of the Annunciation

church of the Annunciation in Nazareth, Israel.

This is the smaller church. it was build for Josef, Father of Jesus.

This is the actual church,where it is believed to be the location where Mary, the mother of Jesus, as a virgin, was visited by the Archangel Gabriel and told that she had been selected to be the mother of Jesus.

you can't really see how beautiful this church is for those pictures. i need a wide angle lens ><

Anyhow, I have picture i've been meaning to upload for a really long time and just hadn't gotten in to it (yeah...)
